About

GREH is a band that embodies a raw and stripped-down approach to extreme metal, forging a sound that blends rage, heaviness, groove, and dissonance into a singular, unsettling force. With just one guitar, drums, and vocals, they channel a minimalistic power that is both punishing and immersive, leaving no room for excess. Their music draws from black, death, and doom metal, uniting sorrowful atmospheres with crushing weight. Formed by Gjero Krsteski, the project began as a one-man endeavor in 2022 before solidifying into a full band in 2023 with Maurice Müller (drums) and Martin Kocula (vocals). The same year saw the release of their debut EP “Reversion Of The Repressed,” which introduced their dark, groove-laden and dissonant signature to the underground.
Since emerging as a live band, GREH has quickly become a force on stage. Their shows are intense, concentrated bursts of energy that translate their minimal setup into a massive, suffocating wall of sound. They’ve shared stages with acts such as Arkona, Firtan, Ophis, Fit for an Autopsy, Hexis, and Bewitcher, as well as headlining numerous shows across Germany, Austria, the Czech Republic, and the Netherlands. Their ability to create an overwhelming live atmosphere with limited instrumentation has earned them a growing reputation within the European underground.
Their debut full-length album “Dysphoric Devotion,” released on January 15, 2025 through GREH-Recordings in collaboration with Fetzner Death Records, is the culmination of their vision: a blackened death-doom assault that merges punishing grooves, mournful dissonance, and sheer sonic weight. Acclaimed by critics—receiving 9/10 scores from Hellfire Magazine and Paranoyd Magazine—the record is a striking testament to the band’s uncompromising ethos. With influences ranging from Full of Hell and Primitive Man to Godflesh, YOB, and Mantar, GREH crafts a sound that is both oppressive and cathartic—a direct hit to the gut and soul alike.
